What is the ACC Stay at Work Service?

Our Vocational Rehabilitation team helps everyone involved in the recovery journey by:

  • Assessing and managing barriers that are slowing recovery or return to work
  • Developing practical, individual return to work plans
  • Coordinating with ACC, employers, GPs and treatment providers
  • Identifying suitable duties and workplace modifications
  • Supporting employers with guidance to ensure recovery remains on track
  • Helping workers build confidence as they return to normal duties and life

Why businesses choose Hemisphere Health

We’re proud to support our businesses throughout the Nelson Tasman region which his our home.

Our approach is different because we have a local team of likeminded Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Occupational medicine specialists working together, all with practical workplace experience.

Whether you’re a small family business or a large employer, we’re here to help you. If one of your employees has been injured, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

We’ll work alongside your team to reduce disruption, support recovery and help your employee return safely.

Recovery is faster when everyone works together!

How to access our service?

The Stay at Work Service is fully funded through ACC for eligible injured workers.

Employers can request a referral to Hemisphere Health for a Stay at Work Programme from ACC where workers return after injury is delayed.

Remember if it’s a workplace injury your ACC levies are loaded for each day a worker is off work, so facilitating an early return minimises the business costs.

GP’s can also request return to work support from ACC or if ACC identifies that additional rehabilitation support would help someone remain at work or return sooner, they may refer them to our team.

Our team is here to provide practical support, clear communication and coordinated rehabilitation that helps people recover and get back to meaningful work fast.
