An Occupational Health Physiotherapist is a specifically trained and experienced Physiotherapist who specialises in the prevention and management of work-related injuries and illnesses. They offer much more than your average clinic or sports physiotherapist for workers and workplaces.

Workers in any job role have a variety of unique movements, tasks, environmental factors, and risks which may impact health. Occupational Health Physiotherapist understand all of these factors and work with individuals and organisations to promote and maintain the health and well-being of workers Occupational Health Physiotherapists support both the injured worker and the workplace throughout the rehabilitation process, working both in and out of the clinic so they are involved with a workplace at multiple levels.

Services include:

  • Pain and discomfort treatment and advice – Workplace referrals with fast access to treatment, self-management advice and manager communication. This service helps workers recover while remaining at work where safe and keeps managers in the loop
  • Injury management and return to work support – Physiotherapy treatment and guidance to recover from injury and return to work with a physiotherapist that understands the workplace demands/tasks. ACC programmes available for valid ACC Claims
  • Onsite physiotherapy clinics – efficient and cost-effective treatment and advice direct to your workplace to improve worker health and function
  • Manual task risk management consulting – Understand the manual handling risks and injuries relevant to your business and implement strategies to reduce it
